Daniil Kvyat (born April 26, 1994) is a Russian racing driver who has competed in Formula One. He is known for his sometimes erratic, but also occasionally brilliant, performances.
Early Career: Kvyat started his career in karting before moving up to formula racing, winning the Formula BMW Pacific Championship in 2010 and the GP3 Series title in 2013.
Formula One: He made his Formula One debut with Toro Rosso in 2014. He was promoted to Red Bull Racing in 2015, replacing Sebastian Vettel.
Red Bull Promotion & Demotion: After a difficult start to the 2016 season, he was demoted back to Toro Rosso after the Russian Grand Prix, with Max Verstappen taking his place at Red Bull.
Toro Rosso Stints: He subsequently had multiple stints with Toro Rosso (later AlphaTauri), showing flashes of speed but also struggling for consistency.
Podiums: Kvyat has achieved three podium finishes in his Formula One career: 2nd at the 2015 Hungarian Grand Prix and 3rd at the 2019 German Grand Prix. Also he had a podium with Red Bull Racing at Chinese Grand Prix in 2016.
Ferrari Development Driver: In 2018, he spent a year as a development driver for Ferrari.
Later Career: After leaving Formula One, he has explored other racing opportunities, including racing in NASCAR.
